Headaches And Your Diet

If you suffer from headaches, you may want to take a look at your diet. Many doctors believe that headaches are the result of food allergies. If you find that you are suffering from frequent headaches, especially if they can be classified as migraine headaches, you need to examine your diet to see if the culprit is in the foods that you are eating.

One of the main foods that can cause headaches is chocolate. If you are consuming a lot of chocolate and getting headaches, this can be the cause. Many people are allergic to chocolate and get headaches after eating this sweet treat. If you find that chocolate brings on the pain of headaches, you should stop consuming it.

Alcohol is another culprit that causes headaches, especially wine.. Because wine has so many preservatives, most people who consume wine will suffer from wine headaches. Wine headaches can be very problematic and disruptive. There are pills that you can take for wine headaches but the jury is still out as to their effect.

While caffeine will not cause headaches, withdrawal from caffeine will cause a tremendous headache. If you are used to having a cup of coffee every morning or drink a lot of tea and suddenly stop, be prepared for a headache. Sudden withdrawal from caffeine will cause headaches in most people. If you want to avoid getting headaches from caffeine withdrawal, you should taper off your use gradually.

Caffeine will also cure headaches. If you are suffering from migraine headaches, caffeine is recommended as a potential cure for headaches. Try sipping a can of cola from a straw. There is a theory that the caffeine interacting with the aluminum in the can will relieve headaches. The jury is still out on this cure, although some people swear by this cure.

If you find that you are having headaches and do not know the reason, one thing that you can do to help yourself is to start a food diary. Keep track of the foods that you eat and what you drink each day. This way, when you get a migraine headache, you can see if it is related to any foods. In most cases, you may see a correlation between the foods that you eat and when you get the headaches.

No one is sure why people get headaches, but the number of people who experience migraine headaches is rising. Some doctors believe that the cause of these headaches is environmental, while others blame the chemicals that are put in our foods. Diet does play a huge part in why some people suffer from headaches, but as of yet, there has been on headache diet invented. If you suffer from headaches, keep track of what you eat to see if there is a connection between your diet and your headaches.

Herbal Cures For Headaches That Work

Although doctors will not usually try to get you to use herbal cures for most ailments and will push prescription drugs, when it comes to headaches, most doctors are all for trying herbal cures as well as alternative medicine to alleviate the pain of the headaches. This is because the current medical treatment for headaches have some severe side effects. For this reason, many doctors are hesitant to prescribe medicine for headaches other than over the counter pain relievers.

Herbal remedies are considered to be an alternate form of healing for many different ailments. There are herbal remedies to treat headaches as well as a variety of different illnesses and conditions. In many cases, herbal remedies have proven to be effective in the treatment of headaches.

One way that you can use herbal remedies to treat headaches that work is to use them ass part of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy employs the use of herbs by extracting their essential oils and using them as a treatment for a variety of conditions. The essential oils must be 100 percent pure and derived from the herb in order to work. They can be inhaled through a diffuser or they can be rubbed on the body as a form of massage.

To treat headaches, try the essential oil of lavender. Lavender is one of the few essential oils that is safe to put directly on the skin. You can purchase lavender essential oils in any health food store and use it to rub on your skin to relieve the pain from headaches.

One caveat to using herbals to treat headaches is that you should never combine herbal remedies with traditional medicine as there can be a reaction. If you are using herbal remedies to treat your headaches, you should talk to your doctor if you have also been prescribed regular medicine. This is because some medications can interact with herbal remedies.

Another herbal remedy that works to cure headaches is rosemary. When you use rosemary as a massage oil, it should be mixed with a carrier oil such as vegetable oil so that it does not cause irritation on the skin. You should put one ounce of carrier oil to about five drops of rosemary in order to get a good massage oil to treat headaches.

If you visit any health food store, chances are that they will have herbal remedies to cure headaches in both pill and topical treatment form. Before you use any of these herbal remedies, you should talk to your doctor about a possible interaction between medications that you may be taking already. While most herbal remedies to treat headaches are perfectly safe, there are some cases where you might experience an adverse reaction with other medications, so talk to your physician to be on the safe side.
